PM390/ASP 2052 HSS - Superior Quality Steel Material Grade - The Powder High-Speed Steel T42, also recognized as ASP2052, is an exceptional powder metallurgical material. Boasting an optimal blend of 8% cobalt, high vanadium, 10% tungsten, chromium, and molybdenum alloyed steel, this material is heat treatable to an impressive hardness range of HRC 67-69. The high carbon, vanadium, and cobalt content endows it with abrasion resistance on par with T15 and red hardness surpassing M42. Its superior hardness, fine grain size, and uniform carbide distribution make it the premier choice for specialized cutting tools that demand exceptional red hardness, high abrasion resistance, and robust toughness. This material is ideally suited for machining nickel-base and titanium alloys, handling heavy and interrupted cuts such as gear hobs, shapers, milling cutters, twist drills, taps, and broaching tools.
