PM390/ASP 2052 HSS Grade - (Powder HSS T42) also known as ASP2052, is an exceptional high-performance powder metallurgical material. It boasts an optimal composition featuring high cobalt (8%), high vanadium, high tungsten (10%), and alloyed with chromium and molybdenum. This robust steel is heat treatable to an impressive HRC 67-69, ensuring maximum hardness. With elevated levels of carbon, vanadium, and cobalt, it offers abrasion resistance akin to T15 and superior red hardness compared to M42. Its high hardness, fine grain size, and uniform carbide distribution make it the prime choice for special purpose cutting tools that demand exceptional red hardness, superior abrasion resistance, and substantial toughness. Perfectly suited for machining nickel-based and titanium alloys, it excels in heavy and interrupted cuts, making it ideal for gear hobs, shapers, milling cutters, twist drills, taps, and broaching tools.
