PM390/ASP 2052 HSS Grade - (Powder HSS T42) also known as ASP2052 is a very high-performance Powder Metallurgical material featuring an optimal high cobalt (8%), high vanadium, high tungsten (10%), chromium, and molybdenum alloyed steel. Heat treatable to HRC 67-69, this material boasts high carbon, vanadium, and cobalt contents that deliver abrasion resistance comparable to T15 and superior red hardness to M42. Its high hardness, fine grain size, and uniform carbide distribution make it the premier choice for special-purpose cutting tools requiring exceptional red hardness, superior abrasion resistance, and robust toughness. Ideal for machining nickel-base and titanium alloys, it excels in heavy and interrupted cuts, such as those performed by gear hobs, shapers, milling cutters, twist drills, taps, and broaching tools.
