About Product:

1.2510 cold work tool steel, most commonly used tool steel. Curable. High hardenability, high dimensional
stability, good edge-holding property and toughness. Working hardness 57-62 HRC.
Cuts &. Stamping tools, (up to 6 mm sheet thickness) shear blades, threading tools, thread dies, plastic
molds, machine knives, woodworking tools, devices, guide bars, dies, gauges, inserts in mold industry.

Remarks

Polishing:	Technical polishing is possible.
Graining:	Not usual.
Nitriding:	Not usual.
Hardening:	At 790°C - 820°C. Details can be taken from the time-temperature conversion and tempering charts. The most suitable heat treatment for the relevant workpiece should be fixed by the hardening shop. The hardness should be specified by the hardening shop and checked on delivery.
Soft annealing:	680°C - 720°C, approx. 4 h
Stress-relief annealing:	To eliminate residual stress after coarse machining at approx. 600°C - 650°C, approx. 4 h with slow heating and furnace cooling.
Normal working hardness:	57 - 62 HRC

O1 Steel Applications:
Where greater dimensional stability in heat treatment or improved wear resistance is required, tool steels with higher alloy contents, such as A2 or D2 should be considered. Typical applications for O1 tool steel are Blanking Dies, Drawing Dies, Extrusion Dies, Form Cutters, Forming Dies, Gauges-Special, Lamination Dies, Master Tools, Molding Dies, Paper Knives, Precision Tools, Punches, Reamers, Roll Threading Dies, Screw Dies, Sub-Press Dies, Taps Trimming Dies, etc.
