H11 Tool Steel / 1.2343 / SKD6
H11 Tool Steelis a
deep-hardening, air-hardening steel known for its minimal size change during heat treatment. Featuring less vanadium than the popular H13 tool steel, H11 boasts exceptional toughness, superior thermal strength, excellent thermal fatigue properties, and moderate wear resistance at medium temperatures. With air quenching at low austenitizing temperatures, it experiences minimal heat treatment deformation and limited iron oxide formation. Additionally, H11 resists molten aluminum corrosion effectively.

- Follow optimal heat treatment parameters for maximum mold life.
7. Applications of H11 Tool Steel
H11 tool steel is ideal for hot tooling where crack resistance is crucial, including hot punches, die casting dies, forging dies, hot shear blades, hot gripper dies, and extrusion tooling. Thanks to its low carbon and alloy content, tools made from chromium hot-work steels can be water-cooled without damage. Furthermore, H11's medium thermal strength makes it suitable for structural components in aircraft and rockets, operating at temperatures between 752~932°F(400~500°C).
