PM390/ASP 2052 HSS Grade - (Powder HSS T42) also known as ASP2052 is a premier, high-performance Powder Metallurgical material with an optimized composition of high cobalt (8%), high vanadium, high tungsten (10%), chromium, and molybdenum alloys. This exceptional material can be heat treated to a remarkable HRC 67-69. The elevated amounts of carbon, vanadium, and cobalt endow it with abrasion resistance on par with T15 and red hardness surpassing that of M42. Featuring superb hardness, fine grain structure, and consistent carbide distribution, it's the ideal selection for specialized cutting tools that demand superior red hardness, exceptional abrasion resistance, and robust toughness. Perfectly suited for machining nickel-based and titanium alloys, as well as for heavy and interrupted cuts, this grade excels in applications such as gear hobs, shapers, milling cutters, twist drills, taps, and broaching tools.
