PM390/ASP 2052 HSS Grade - (Powder HSS T42) also known as ASP2052 is a superior-grade Powder Metallurgical material. This high-performance steel boasts an optimal composition of 8% cobalt, high vanadium, 10% tungsten, chromium, and molybdenum, and is heat treatable to HRC 67-69. Its unique blend of high carbon, vanadium, and cobalt ensures abrasion resistance on par with T15 and offers red hardness exceeding that of M42. The material’s high hardness, fine grain size, and uniform carbide distribution make it an exceptional choice for specialized cutting tools that demand high red hardness, superior abrasion resistance, and excellent toughness. Ideal for machining nickel-base and titanium alloys, and perfect for heavy and interrupted cuts, the PM390/ASP 2052 HSS is suited for gear hobs, shapers, milling cutters, twist drills, taps, and broaching tools.
