AISI 1045 Medium Carbon Steel:
1045 steel is a widely used medium carbon steel known for its excellent combination of strength, toughness, and wear resistance. It is one of the most common carbon steels and finds extensive applications in various industries due to its favorable mechanical properties and ease of processing.

Carbon (C): 0.43%-0.50%
Manganese (Mn): 0.60%-0.90%
Phosphorus (P): 0.04% (max)
Sulfur (S): 0.05% (max)

Mechanical Properties:
Tensile Strength: 565 MPa (82,000 psi)
Yield Strength: 310 MPa (45,000 psi)

Melting Point: Approximately 1426°C (2600°F)

Heat Treatment:
1045 steel can be heat treated to achieve desired mechanical properties. Common heat treatment processes include:
Annealing: Heating to 800°C - 850°C (1470°F - 1560°F) and slow cooling to relieve internal stresses.
Normalizing: Heating to 870°C - 920°C (1600°F - 1700°F) and air cooling for improved machinability.
