PM390/ASP 2052 HSS Grade - (Powder HSS T42) also known as ASP2052 is an extraordinary, high-performance powder metallurgical material featuring an optimal blend of high cobalt (8%), high vanadium, high tungsten (10%), chromium, and molybdenum alloyed steel. This remarkable material can be heat treated to achieve an impressive HRC 67-69. Its substantial carbon, vanadium, and cobalt contents offer abrasion resistance on par with T15 and exhibit superior red hardness compared to M42. With its exceptional hardness, fine grain size, and uniform carbide distribution, it is an unparalleled choice for specialized cutting tools that demand high red hardness, exceptional abrasion resistance, and commendable toughness. This grade is particularly suited for machining nickel-base and titanium alloys, making it ideal for heavy and interrupted cuts, including gear hobs, shapers, milling cutters, twist drills, taps, and broaching tools.
